Bars of Shepherd Scrub are discs 3" wide, 1" thick and are $8 each.
ShepherdScrub Soap is made from sheep tallow, lye, and water in batches of 10 bars at a time. Some ShepherdScrub varieties contain an abrasive such as coffee grounds, or ground rosemary, for those times when one needs some serious scrubbing after a dirt filled day on the farm. Similarly, some varieties have extra tallow for moisturizing.
All recipes are customization of a base recipe. The following is the base recipe I use for making 10 bars of soap that are 3" round, 1" thick.
This one has a higher tallow content and is marked on packaging as +10 to signify a 10% increase in tallow.
It is not uncommon for me to get hella dirty, and sometimes I need a soap with extra scrub-a-dub, so I will add ground herbs/plant to the mix (usually between ½ and 1 oz. Abrasive soap will be marked by the name of the included abrasive, followed by the oz weight of the abrasive added to a 10 bar mixture. Due to the sopification process, the scent of the abrasives is sadly not present in the finished bars. The soap smells like plain ol' boring soap.
